UPDATE .. March 2005.
We have sold our property near Sarina and are currently travelling full time.
Have built a 4.8m long trailer which is fitted out as a mobile (electronic and mechanical) workshop.
This has affected our "contact info" which is at the bottom of this page. It has also kept us extremely busy for the last 3 months.
and
RAMBLIN' - WORDS ON TECHNICAL AND GENERAL MOTORHOME SUBJECTS.
GETTING ORGANIZED ..
GENERAL NOTES, HINTS & KINKS.
HF RADIO .. SOME RADIO AMATEURS WHO ARE ALSO "TRAVELLERS" HAVE A DAILY RADIO
SCHED ON 7.103 MHz (maybe +/- a few KHz) AT 1730 E.A.S.T., ALSO, EARLIER ON 14.160 MHz
AT 1330 E.A.S.T. TO COVER GREATER DISTANCES. PLEASE JOIN US WHEN YOU CAN. Ron, VK4BRG.
A bit of personal stuff .. we, Ron and Sue currently have a Winnebago 2403 Alpine motorhome.
We are CMCA members, and members of our local Chapter .. Mackay Sugarloafers.
Our interst in motorhoming was given a large boost after a great three month trip we did starting May 2000.
This 25,000 km trip, which began and ended near Vancouver, coverd lots of Eastern Canada, most of Alaska
and the north west corner of the US. Maybe a good suject for a story to put on this web site!
We currently live near Sarina, Qld. and now enjoying some travel around Oz .. most of it fairly close to
home at this stage. We prefer less populated areas and like "bush camping" when possible.
Also, meeting and talking with fellow travellers.
In 2003, we did a trip, via involved routes as far south as Nowra, NSW.
In early 2004, also via involved routes, we travelled to Tasmania, where we spent 2 1/2 months.
Recently, in mid 2004 we had a 5 week trip .. Rockhampton, Cloncurry, Townsville.
Having been involved with radio & electronics all my life, I have fitted various radios and
other electronic devices to our motorhome .. in fact, it's something of an electronic "test bed".
My idea, with this web site, is to share our travels, parking (camping) places (some new, I hope),
ideas and describe some of the electronic devices that can enhance our travels.
Constructive feedback, "hints & kinks", more parking (camping) spot details etc. suitable for
adding to this web site are appreciated and will be acknowledged if used.
Happy travelling, Ron and Sue.
