NANANGO TO ROCKHAMPTON.     BURNETT HIGHWAY.


  The Nanango to Kingaroy Road is covered at the end of the Caboolture to Nanango (D'Aguillar Highway) section.

The Burnett Highway forms part of a major north south route to the west of the coastal highway between Nanango in the south
to Rockhampton in the north. At Nanango it is the extension northwards of both the New England and the D'Aguillar Highways.
Near its northern extremity at Dululu it is poosible to switch to the Leichardt Highway and travel to Rockhampton via
Westwood and the Capricorn Highway. At that junction with the Capricorn Highway it is possible to turn west towards
Blackwater, Emerald etc. It is dual lane and sealed with a few overtaking lanes.

  this park is a designated rest area with signed parking for caravans. We parked just to the east
  where a building is further back from the street.
  Would be excellent day parking, with most facilites & shops close.

  caravan/parking books". Sad, as a number of closed shops noted in business district!

  NOTE: recent advice, April '06, is that the area has been constricted by fencing to the extent that there is
  insufficient room to park/turn.
  Opposite this turn off (investigated Nov. '06) is the entry to the Recreation Reserve at rear of rest area mentioned
  above .. travel around rear of tennis court and turn left .. total 300 metres. We parked past buildings and circular
  turning area. Slightly sloping area adjacent to tree lines and near recreation ground.

  Fee $5 pvpn for power, showers, toilet payable at store or pub. Donation box noted. Signed "NO GENERATORS".

490.4 km (63.9 km) DULULU. Cross Roads, store & fuel on corner. Turn north east for Mt. Morgan
  (Burnett Highway). Hotel to the right.
  These "crossroads" are a little unique, with the Leichardt Highway intersecting and immediately leaving
  the Burnett Highway.
